The story

Brody builds portable houses and cabins for a living. In his own words on the site: “I've put my skills to use creating homes for others, but I always had a dream of crafting something of my own.” So he started building his own cabin, and launched CabinLodger to document the journey and share what he knows about cabin building, woodwork and treating timber.

The dream hit reality fast. The hands-on work that pays the bills left nothing for content, and he was starting from absolute zero. No audience, and no realistic way to publish often enough for Google to notice.

He connected the site to DraftSEO and let it run: 60 articles on cabin building and DIY construction in two months, each one also turned into ready-to-post social copy for his Facebook and Instagram. Brody reviewed and approved. That was the whole job.

The chart says it best. Flat for months, then a real curve: 652 visitors in his first two months on DraftSEO, roughly half from organic search and most of the rest typing the site in directly. Not bad for a blog whose founder was off building cabins the entire time.

I started my site from scratch with no followers at all. I was struggling to post as often as I'd liked to, my job building cabins for people in remote locations is very time-demanding. Pretty wild to see it's all actually working!!
