You need to have a website connected via CMS or any other of our integrations. To be able to read your existing blogs, DraftSEO AI needs access to your site so it can learn and be able to link to them whenever a relevant context opportunity arises.
DraftSEO AI will avoid linking to pages that aren't published, as to avoid having links that will result in a 404 when your article is ready.
DraftSEO will decide how many internal links it can insert in your new article based on 2 main factors:
SEO max links per article to avoid penalties for linking too many
Context - whether there is ample text on that topic in the article paragraph so it makes sense to link to the target page
You can manually select the number of links you want, but that may lead to lower quality relevance, as you are undermining the algorithm's decision.
You can also toggle whether internal links can open in a new tab or simply redirect in the current one.
